1. EAT AT TOAST

When: Monday 14 to Friday 18 & Monday 21 to Friday 25 August

Where: Wellington CBD

What: This pop-up (get it, pop-up) offers an array of sweet and savoury toast delicacies to get you out of bed. Each day, a new Wellington chef, producer or supplier will create toast that celebrates Kiwi food with seasonal produce. This is one sure-fire way to up your breakfast game; just add coffee.

 

2. WHAT FAT VEGANS OF WELLINGTON EAT

When: Sunday 13, 20 & 27 August

Where: Sweet Release Cakes and Treats

What: This is one event that is sure to change the way you look at vegan food forever. The team at Sweet Release will be dishing up your Sunday comfort food in an all-vegan menu including fried 'chicken', milkshakes and plenty of cake. Vegans just eat salads - yeah right.

 

3. EAT AT DRAGONFLY

When: DINNER | $60 + $15 DESSERT

What: The modern Asian restaurant and bar known for its pre-theatre soirées is offering an entrée of fresh ceviche or bang bang noodle dish followed by a salmon broth or aged beef filet. We recommend adding dessert - who could say no to Chambord jelly and Whittaker's chocolate? 

 

4. URBAN HĀNGI

When: Friday 18, Saturday 19 & Sunday 20 August

Where: Te Wharewaka o Pōneke

What: Join Kai Time host Rewi Spraggon, for three courses of delicious ingredients cooked fresh in the earth that morning. The locally sourced produce is served in a high-end hāngi experience providing the definition of good kai. 

 

5. EAT AT CAPITOL RESTAURANT

When: LUNCH | $35 or DINNER | $55

What: The family-run business prides itself on its seasonal menu that compliments its array of authentic Italian dishes. Try the grilled half baby crayfish for lunch or indulge in a two-course dinner with black Doris plum and mascarpone mousse. 

 

6. GARAGE PROJECT'S REAL YUM CHA

When: Saturday 26 August

Where: Regal Chinese Restaurant

What: If you love your Yum Cha and Garage Project happens to be your beverage of choice, then you're in luck. Garage Project has teamed up with Wellington favourite, Regal Chinese for one night only. When: Saturday 12 & Sunday 13 August
